UPDATE 5/2012: I can’t believe I wrote so many words about myself initially. New things: I graduated. It was terrible. Still trying to make real life happen. In lieu of that, I reblog.
THE OLD STUFF:
I’m Katie and this is my Tumblr! But I’m sure you’ve figured that much out. If you don’t know me, I’m a senior at Penn State, hopefully going to graduate this coming May with a BFA in Visual Arts, specifically drawing and painting. I have a serious love for cartooning, illustration, graphic design and especially animation - after graduating I plan to attend (starting with online classes) the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and get my MFA in Traditional Animation.
While ostensibly this was intended at the start to be an art blog, it seems to be filling up with a lot of my more extracurricular interests. I love riding horses and am currently a member of the Penn State Equestrian Team. I love watching the Nittany Lions of course, and college football is pretty much my favorite sport. I like baseball on occasion (that occasion being when the Yankees are doing well). Skiing is also fun but I don’t get to do it very much. I love travelling and exploring new places, so expect me to never shut up about spending the last summer in California. I have an unhealthy love of my cat, Gracie, because she’s the cutest cat in the world. I’m from New Jersey, and if I hear you say one stupid thing about it being dirty, smelly, stupid, etc I will CUT. YOU. I live at the beach, but no, it’s not like Jersey Shore. I also fucking love Pokemon.
TV shows I watch (and that followers of this blog are likely to hear about) are Grey’s Anatomy, 30 Rock, White Collar, Law and Order SVU, Modern Family, Project Runway, and Top Chef.
When it comes to music, I like just about everything - alternative rock being my favorite, but I love poppy shit too - though with country that only really extends as far as Taylor Swift. My favorites definitely include Bob Dylan, Circa Survive, The Killers, He Is Legend, Blink-182, Band of Horses and Death Cab for Cutie, but there are seriously dozens of others I could list. I’m generally very easy-going, more than willing to talk endlessly about silly, pointless things, and love meeting new people. However, I don’t do drama and I have a low tolerance for creepers. If I don’t know you IRL, try to avoid talking about my boobs.
